About

I'm Lucas Ferrer Cardona, MD, a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon based in Austin, Texas. Alongside my clinical work, I'm an entrepreneur, a podcast co-host, a speaker, and a collaborator across medicine, media, and healthcare innovation.

Clinical focus

I treat complex arterial and venous disease. Much of my work centers on limb salvage and amputation prevention, and on wound care. I perform both open and minimally invasive vascular procedures.

Training

I earned my medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. I completed general surgery training at Temple University Hospital, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

Earlier academic roles

Earlier in my career, I held academic appointments in Texas. I served as Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at UT Health San Antonio, and as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. These are previous roles, not current affiliations.

Private practice

I'm establishing a private practice in the Austin area, planned for around September to October 2026, with a vascular and endovascular focus. The exact opening date, final location, and full service list are still being developed. I'll share scheduling information and practice contact details here as they become available.
