When Miguel Montero Baker and I started Life of Flow Podcast, the mission was simple: support physicians and protect physician independence.

The Mission

Every guest we've had, every conversation we've recorded, that's what it comes back to. Supporting physicians. Protecting their independence. It's the thread that runs through everything we do.

New Opportunities

As we head into Summer and Fall, we're opening partnership spots. And we want to work with medical companies that genuinely share that mission and want to reach a physician audience that's engaged and growing.

Get Involved

If you're a medical company looking to connect with an engaged physician audience, this could be the right fit. We're looking for partners who care about the same things we do.

The bottom line? We want to work with companies that believe in supporting physicians and protecting their independence.

I Took 2 Months Off After 8 Years of Grinding. Here's What I Learned.

"A taste of freedom can make you unemployable." Naval Ravikant

After taking 2 months off following 8 years of straight grinding as a doctor, I'm starting to understand what he meant.

Honestly? I don't know if I can go back to the way things were.

Hidden Opportunities

During my break, I got a random call from someone I'd worked with years ago. Completely out of the blue. They were offering support on a new project.

Then more calls came. People asking me to collaborate on clinical work I actually cared about.

I wasn't even looking. They found me.

There are way more opportunities out there than you think. You just can't see them when your head is down.

You're Underpaid

Here's something that hit me hard: I could make the same money in 2 weeks doing locums that took me a month at the university.

Let that sink in.

Life Exists

Some people go 20 years without a single real break. I can't imagine that.

We're taught to grind until retirement. But what if small sabbaticals along the way are the actual answer?

New Paths

Before this break, I had my head down. Tunnel vision. Just surviving.

Now? I'm seeing paths I didn't even know existed. Taking time off opens you up to things you never thought possible.

The Takeaway

If you've been grinding nonstop and wondering if there's more out there, there is. You just can't see it when you're drowning in the day-to-day.

Freedom has a way of showing you what you've been missing. It reveals opportunities, exposes what you're actually worth, and reminds you that life exists outside of work.

Take the break. Even a small one.

The holidays always pull me back to what really matters. Family. Community. And giving back.

Puerto Rico shaped who I am. And today, its healthcare system needs all of us.

The Mission

I'm proud to help amplify the work of Fundación para el Futuro de la Salud. This organization is dedicated to training, retaining, and bringing back healthcare professionals to ensure Puerto Rico's communities have access to high-quality care now and for generations to come.

Every Bit Counts

Every contribution, big or small, directly supports the physicians and healthcare leaders the island needs.

Your support helps train, retain, and bring back the healthcare professionals Puerto Rico needs.

Giving Back

I'm grateful to be part of this mission. And I'm especially grateful this season for the chance to give back to the place that gave me so much.

Here's what it comes down to: Puerto Rico's healthcare future depends on all of us stepping up. Whether it's spreading the word or making a donation, every action makes a difference.

The island needs more physicians and healthcare leaders. Organizations like Fundación para el Futuro de la Salud are doing the hard work to make that happen.

Consider supporting this cause and helping ensure Puerto Rico's communities have access to the care they deserve.
